She shared, "When I needed her to cry in scene after scene, she went at it with passion and then somehow managed to make it funny. I remember she would sometimes spin in a goofy circle before a take, intentionally throwing herself off balance, to shed any inhibitions and fully immerse herself in the moment. She was fearless, unique, and born to be a movie star. Her laugh could brighten anyone's day, and for me, knowing and working with her was life-changing. Thank you, Di. I'll miss you forever."
Meyers also opened up about the personal impact of Keaton's passing. As a woman, she lost a friend of almost four decades, a sister-like figure with whom she shared countless memorable experiences. As a filmmaker, she lost a connection with an actress that was truly special and rare. "We all search for that one person who truly understands us, and with Diane, I believe we had that mutual understanding. Writing for her made me a better filmmaker because I felt so secure in her hands," she shared.
